With a bachelor's degree cum laude from Harvard and a J.D. from Yale Law School, I have written my share of application essays.  Since graduation I've learned much more about written advocacy.  That's why my services include writing, editing, and help with graduate school application essays.

Over the years I have written speeches for Ted Kennedy, reports for the Secretary of Labor, and research summaries for think tanks. That’s on top of the op-eds, Senate Committee Reports, budget justifications, personnel handbooks, and legal briefs I’ve drafted during my career. Outside of work hours I enjoy reviewing books.

All this exposure to the written word has taught me that every writer can use a good editor. I provide editorial assistance nearly every day, ranging from high-level organizational suggestions to advice about grammar and spelling. I’ve edited over 300 book reviews as well as cover letters, fund-raising appeals, and a book or two.  I have even taught "Editing and Document Design" to students in the University of Maryland's Professional Writing Program.

As a long-time Harvard College alumni interviewer, I do not advise students applying to college.  But graduate school applications are a big part of my repertoire. I’ve helped many candidates shape their personal statements and school-specific supplements. And my clients get results. After working with me, applicants have been admitted to business school at Yale and NYU; law school at University of Maryland and University of Baltimore; PhD programs at Carnegie-Mellon, University of Chicago, and University of Washington; and Master's programs at Harvard, Stanford, Teachers College at Columbia University, UCLA, and University of Maryland, among others.
